New Song: Isolation

This is a song called, “Isolation”, from my upcoming album, Rivers in the Mist.

ISOLATION

ISOLATION.mp3

Lyrics:

Late at night, I heard a voice calling me here.

It was you whispering choices in my ear.

You asked to lay your body down with me right here.

Isolation, am I dying?

Pull me closer to that line.

Call me, “Baby.”

Call me, “Baby.”

Give me something for my mind.

Though we’ve both been plagued by loneliness and fear,

We have found ourselves wiping each others tears.

Lay your hands upon my face for me, my dear.

Isolation, am I dying?

Pull me closer to that line.

Call me, “Baby.”

Call me, “Baby.”

Give me something for my mind.

Overwhelmed and threatening to leave me here.

Too much too fast to overcome the years.

But, this too will pass if you stay with me, right here.

Isolation, am I dying?

Pull me closer to that line.

Call me, “Baby.”

Call me, “Baby.”

Give me something for my mind.

New Song off “Rivers in the Mist”

Here’s another new song that will be on my upcoming album, “Rivers in the Mist”.  More upbeat, with beat!

New Song! “Oh My God (You’re Gone)”

This is a new song that is, I admit, rather sad.  But, then, I’ve had a … complicated life.

Oh My God

Oh_My_God-mp3.mp3

Lyrics

I hear you in my head, Oh My God.

Telling me things, a sweet facade.

Came straight out of your mouth, that you would stay.

But, you were gone, already on the plane.

And then I was alone, with you away,

Lying in bed, where you used to lay.

Can’t get you out my head, Oh My God.

Oh My God, Oh My God.

Close my eyes,

Shun the light,

Girl, you’ve left me alone.

Every Night,

Cry and cry,

Oh my God you’re gone.

I haven’t slept in days, Oh my God.

My eyes are red, my body’s shot.

I’m trying to move on, seeing a girl.

But, she ain’t you. You are a pearl.

I’ve loved a lot of women, in this world.

But, with you gone, my minds a twirl.

I’ll never sleep again, Oh my God.

Oh my God, Oh my God.

Close my eyes,

Shun the light,

Girl, you’ve left me alone.

Every Night,

Cry and cry,

Oh my God you’re gone.

I’ll be right here waiting, Oh my God.

My face in hand, my heart is locked.

I’m walking in a daze, with you gone.

I’m your man, right or wrong.

Forgive you everything, all you’ve done.

No matter what, you’re still the one.

Come on back to me, Oh my God.

Oh my God, Oh my God.

Close my eyes,

Shun the light,

Girl, you’ve left me alone.

Every Night,

Cry and cry,

Oh my God you’re gone.

The Alterside (Theme Song)

This website is named after a song of mine which appeared on my second album, The Acropolis.

About the Song

The song is about a man who is being haunted by an evil woman and is eventually sacrificed by her.   She torments him, but he loves her anyway.

Lyrics

Verse 1

You held me, my shoulder,

Your fingers they made no sound.

Like Grendel, you watched me.

Your eyelids, they made no sound.

Chorus

I’m the virgin at the Alterside,

with my hands laid back for the sacrifice.

You wanna lay me down in the sun

with the Sandman covering everyone.

Verse 2

I heard you, behind me.

Your footsteps, they made no sound.

I tremble, so lightly,

that my breath, it made no sound.

Chorus

I’m the virgin at the Alterside,

with my hands laid back for the sacrifice.

You wanna lay me down in the sun

with the Sandman covering everyone.

Lady

About

Lady is a far more “rocking” song that I normally write. But, like most of them, it’s a sad love song.  It’s about a guy who’s in love with a woman who does nothing but lead him on.  They take one step back for every two steps they take forward.

So, their relationship DOES move forward, but at the cost of any sense of stability.  We’ve all been in relationships like this.  We put everything we have into it, but get yanked around by the other person.  Everytime things seem to be going well, they run away.

LADY - from Tea Green - by Saij

Lyrics

Verse 1

It was a rainy day

with no sun to shine on my gloomy mind.

You were a fancy lady,

looking hot and crazy–walked over to you.

I asked you, “what’s your name.”

You said, “They’re all the same, can’t really tell you.”

Gave me a dirty look, then you ran away.

Chorus

I’m asking, “Lady, lady, lady, now tell me

why you gotta come here and do me this way?”

Verse 2

It was a sunny day,

with no rain to fall when I heard the call.

You said, “you feel me honey,

got an empty tummy, needs filling by you.”

You wore a flirty dress,

it made my mind a mess.  I stepped up to kiss you.

Gave me a dirty look, then you ran away.

Chorus

I’m asking, “Lady, lady, lady, now tell me

why you gotta come here and do me this way?”

Verse 3

It was our wedding day,

and I had the ring, and my heart was singing.

Under a cherry tree,

we overlooked the sea, and I was so close to you.

Standing in the sand,

I heard the last command, I stepped up to kiss you.

Gave me a dirty look, then you ran away.

Chorus

I’m asking, “Lady, lady, lady, now tell me

why you gotta come here and do me this way?”

Fix: M-Audio Mobilepre and Sonar: No Sound

Mines less shiny blue than this one

Mine's less shiny blue than this one

So I bought an M-Audio Mobilepre recently to use as a USB soundcard/interface for my PC Workstation.  Instantly I came across some problems.

The first was that it didn’t come with Vista drivers.  (I know, Vista sucks, and I should be using XP anyway.  But, I’m giving it a go.)  So, I had to download those from the M-Audio site.

That got it installed.  It worked fine with Fruity Loops, and I could hear myself through the mic.  But, I couldn’t get Sonar to work at all with it.

I went into the audio tab in Sonar, set the drivers to Asio, and … nothing.

It took me a while, but here’s what I did to “fix” the problem.

  • run Msconfig, and deselect the taskbar fuction for the Mobilepre in the auto startups tab (It will probably say Avid software or something).
  • Restart your computer
  • done

I should work.  If not, make sure that in your Master track, your output is set to your Mobilepre devise.  Why a taskbar icon would pose such a problem I don’t know.

This is only a partial fix, for me however.  I can’t get both Fruity Loops and Sonar to run together.  I think when they’re both running, Fruity Loops is hogging the ASIO driver.  So, I have to close one down to use the other … bummer! I guess I’m not going to be using Sonar to run FL Studio anytime soon.
